What is a Mocktail Experience?
The Chipped Fang is our NEW immersive mocktail experience for this fall, held within the special event space at Bold Escape Rooms in the Strip District. You’re invited to enter a secret lair in the Strip District for vampires of all kinds and times starting on Friday, September 13th.
But what is a mocktail experience exactly? Let’s ask Noah Welter, a veteran cast member of both ScareHouse and The Basement and also our creative advisor and chief mixologist for The Chipped Fang.
An immersive mocktail experience is this strange intersection of a show that is dinner theatre adjacent mixed with a bit of an environmental and story-driven immersive experience. You, as guests, are invited into The Chipped Fang where you will spend 90-minutes with various characters. Throughout the experience you will be served drinks, solve puzzles and riddles to create drinks, and enjoy copious amounts of vampire tomfoolery. We invite our guests to experience the show in the way that feels correct for them. The more involved and engaged you’d like to be, the more the world around you will engage. If you’d like to visit as a passive observer, that is fine too! There is no right or wrong way to experience an immersive mocktail experience as long as you are having fun!
For some context into my background as a drink creator, I have been working on this front for several years. After spending days, months, and years behind a bar, learning the history of imbibing and unique ways to play with flavor, I began to create more and more of my own drinks. I have written articles for my own personal blog and for others doing fun things like breaking down films to create drinks that are a perfect pairing based on time-period, themes, and personnel involved. I have created menus for multiple immersive cocktail experiences, one of which is currently touring throughout the entire country. I have hosted cocktail classes to teach historical ties to drinks, the origins of different spirits, and how to mix and master drinks within a home bar.
All of this is to say, I have spent a large portion of the last several years of my life creating artistic endeavors meant to be sipped. I hope that the drinks within The Chipped Fang are able to achieve layers and levels of complexity while feeling like they are an integral piece of the story.
On the drinks for The Chipped Fang: What are they!? I am glad you asked, dear reader. They are all 0% ABV mocktails that have stemmed from my own imagination. While they will be delicious, they will also be small pieces of the story. From color-changing mocktails, to drinks that will create fun banter amongst friends, these mocktails are all made to add a bit of magic to your evening. They all lean into the season: So fall flavors are a must, but I didn’t want to limit myself! No matter what kind of flavor preferences you have, there is something for everyone throughout the experience!
The Chipped Fang is open from Friday the 13th through Halloween! Your ticket includes:
